Today, demands on motor vehicles is extremely high, with
the emphasis
on low emissions,
performance, reliability and comfort.
To achieve this, the
control systems have to be very accurate and operate at very high
speeds, therefore regular maintenance is so important to
enable vehicles to continue operating cleanly and efficiently.
Generally there are two types of service,
Full and Interim. A Full service is done every 12 months
or approximately 12,000 miles where as a Interim service is
every 6 months or 6,000 miles (mainly older diesel
vehicles).
With newer vehicles these intervals vary (i.e. VW Long life
servicing schedules etc).
When servicing vehicles, the type of use has to be considered,
vehicles with low mileage,
even as low as 1000 miles in 12 months should still be serviced
annually as vehicles deteriorate over time as well as mileage. Brake fluid absorbs
moisture, brake components seize, wheel
cylinders can start leaking. Although with low mileage vehicles,
it probably may not be necessary to change air fuel filters and
spark plugs as
often. |

The standard service we carry out is
equal to or exceeds manufacturer's specifications.
Where a manufacturer's service schedule is in place we will carry
out the appropriate service and endorse the service document.
In October 2002 the law changed,
which means the main dealers cannot insist servicing is
carried out by them in order to validate your warranty.
